EDPS is all about school spirit and getting involved...!

We have a very active sports programme, from a Fall running club, volleyball and basketball school teams for both boys and girls, to the much anticipated Spring track and field season.  Hats off to our girls' basketball and volleyball teams for bringing home the gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Our groups of teachers is a committed staff who go out of their way to afford students enriching sports and healthy lifestyle opportunities.  We Eagles are mighty!

Elginburg's Student Council is very active in the school, supporting events such as dances, winter and Valentine wishes, monthly spirit days, and running our monthly spirit day assemblies where we honour our students' successes in many ways.  We couldn't run the school with active and supportive group of students and their staff advisors.

The Yearbook Club is another well known and popular club with students.  These students work very hard all year long to produce a yearbook in June with pictures and collages of the highlights of 'being an Elginburg Eagle.'  From school trips to on-site happenings, dress up days to special events and assemblies....these are all honoured in our yearbook.  The hours and hours of work that goes into producing these books is always worth it as students and families look forward to the each spring for a nominal fee to cover the costs of printing and binding.  We can't thank this group of students and staff enough for their efforts, time and commitment to the task.

Elginburg Public School is also noted for its commitment to the arts at every level.  We have an ever-evolving student art gallery located throughout the building to highlight ongoing fine art work.  Artists from the Ontario Arts Council visit us every year to showcase their work with students in our school and to help students see the life of an artist from a different perspective.  In 2009/10 our school hosted 3 artists.  Ongoing dramatic playlets, plays, skits, and readers' theatre are part of the everyday learning in classrooms.  Students have a chance to step outside themselves, be someone else through these kinds of activities, and access other parts of themselves and their natural gifts and talents.  Our School Council is a regular and ongoing financial supporter to our arts programming.

Catch some great photos of our students and staff doin' what they do best in our EDPS photo and art gallery!
