Dear Elginburg Families,
We hope you are enjoying the warmer temperatures! To recap past events, we had a great start to last month, where “March Mathness” Games day took place during the first week. Students teamed up with partner classes and engaged in various numeracy games. It was a fun and collaborative event for everyone involved! On Thursday, March 5th, students enjoyed a Hot Dog lunch, which was generously hosted and covered by School Council. That same afternoon, students participated in an IST Celebration, held from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, coordinated by Mr. Burt and supported by Mrs. Clancy, Ms. Fitzgerald, Mrs. Lindenblatt, Mrs. Periera, and Ms. Lovett. March break also brought a much-anticipated week off, from March 16th to March 20th. As the month wrapped up, families returned their March ‘Mathness’ Bingo cards. Thank you to Mrs. Nielissen for coordinating. We concluded the month on a high note with the March ‘Mathness’ assembly on March 31st, celebrating student participation and announcing the winners.
April will be another busy month at EDPS. We started the first week with a wonderful initiative led by Elginburg’s School Council, where Bunny Grams were enjoyed by students, while supporting fundraising efforts. A huge THANK YOU to school council for everything you do to support Elginburg! Grade 4 and 6 students will attend an afternoon field trip to Little Cat on Tuesday, April 14th. The EDPS School Council will meet on Wednesday, April 15th, from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. All are welcome! April 17th is a PA day for all students, as staff throughout the LDSB will be engaged with professional activities. A reminder that dental screenings for all JK, SK, and Grade 2 classes will happen on April 22nd. On April 23rd and 27th, Mrs. Guild’s class will visit Grandfriends. School Spirit will also be on full display April 24th as students participate in Silly Sock & Scrunchie Day, organized by Student Council with the support from Ms. Furst.
We aim to have a wonderful April filled with learning!

Mental Health Supports
In response to tragic events, locally or globally, students may experience a wide range of emotions, including sadness, confusion, worry, or questions about what they may be hearing from others. Students may react in different ways depending on their age, experiences, and how connected they feel to the situation. With time, reassurance, and support from caring adults, these reactions often ease.
We encourage families to keep lines of communication open at home, to invite questions, and to offer reassurance as needed. If you have concerns about your student or would like support, please refer to the following resources:
